Since it’s conception in 1888, the Hotel Del Coronado has maintained its reputation as one of the most sought out hotels in California. Being the first hotel built on Coronado, the Del has always had an impact on the San Diego community. The iconic red rooftops and ornate white railing have stood the test of time and the hotel has served as a place for making memories and bringing families together.
In 2020 Taber Company was presented with the opportunity to bid the renovation of the hotel’s lobby and valet entrance.
The renovation process was unique—as the project focus was to keep the old character of the building—making old materials look new. We started the renovation process in the beginning of 2021, on a mission to showcase the timeless character of the Del, bringing the entry way and lobby back to life.
In August 2021, the project was finally complete—just in time to welcome new and returning guests into the resort for the end of summer. We will forever cherish this project.
